Mr. Chandan Chaudhari

Chandan Sir has been a mentor to students at Atul Fine Art since 2016. He prepares young minds for competitive ‘Art and Design Entrance Exams’ of different colleges across the world. He even conducts lectures on ‘Special Illustration Courses’ and ‘Digital Painting’. His aim is to train his students to become successful independent artists. His vision for Atul Art Institute of Fine Art is to maintain the sanctity of a traditional Institute with a modern blend of Digital and Applied Art.

He says “Art can never be taught; it can only be realized by oneself. A mentor can only guide the right way… It is the student himself who has to walk the path and overcome the hurdles.”

Inspired by his artist parents, Mr. Atul Chaudhari and Mrs. Sushma Chaudhari, Chandan Sir commenced his creative journey by completing his BFA (Commercial Arts) from Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art. He did his specialization in Photography (gold medalist for wildlife photography) from the same Institute and went on to win a National Award in Photography. He even designed a logo for the ‘Maharashtra State Child Rights Protection Commission’. Next, he completed his second graduation in Technical Direction and VFX. Soon, alongside his mentor in photography, he started his own Film Production Company called Whitehope Studios Pvt. Ltd. The company works on Advertising Films, TVC’s, Short Films, Documentaries and Corporate Films. With 10 years of experience under his wing, today he is the Post Production HOD at Whitehope Studio with his specialization as a VFX Generalist.

Over the years, his experience made him able enough to successfully adopt various roles in the industry. He showcased his creativity for the first time in 2014, via an Art Exhibition titled ‘Gradation’. He went on to showcase several other noteworthy Exhibitions such as ‘The Journey’ & ‘Viscosity’. The positive feedback received at the end of it was a turning point for him. This kindled in him the fire to share all that he had learned over the years with today’s generation. Teaching was one of the best means to do so.

Keeping this goal in mind, he completed his second specialization in Art Psychology following which he did a Diploma in Art Teacher’s Training. Being someone who had faced a number of hurdles during his journey, his biggest strength as a teacher was his ability to find out the most simple and creative solutions to otherwise seemingly complex problems. Just as he has gained inspiration from artists around him, he always had a desire to be able to uplift young souls who aspire to pursue art as a career.

It is more than just a class. It is a space facilitating free thinking, visualization and creation. A space free of judgement that provides an opportunity to awaken the innocent artist in you and paint something of beauty, authenticity and value. Many students of Atul Fine Art proudly work as artists and designers in the field of architecture, interior designing, UI/UX designing, commercial art and even as teachers. While some have pulled off solo exhibitions, others have been honoured with prestigious awards from Art Societies. This has been made possible because of the Family of mentors- Mr. Atul Chaudhari, Mrs. Sushma Chaudhari and their son Mr. Chandan Chaudhari. Two generations of this family working towards the same goal, gives Atul Fine Art the perfect blend of grounding and dynamism. Atul Sir’s experience gives aspiring artists roots, while Chandan Sir’s contemporary thoughts give them the wings to fly.

ABOUT THE MENTORS

Mr. Atul Chaudhari

Starting young at the Rajaram Fine Art Institute, Atul sir trained himself to be an Art Mentor. This intensive training took a good 5 years. He also imbibed the art of teaching from his guru Mr. Shree Krishna Udipi. Atul Sir has specialized in portraits, landscapes & many other art techniques. He currently teaches the ‘Fine Art Course’ and the ‘Children’s Drawing Course’. Atul Sir always tells that teaching is a symbiotic relationship in which he gets to learn new things each day from his students as well. He shares how his experience as a teacher has taught him much more than any graduation course. Atul Sir doesn’t believe in calling himself a teacher. He calls himself a facilitator who gives his students a creative workspace and believes in inspiring them through his work over the years. He tries to build the skill of observation in his students and widen their imagination. It is these achievements and delights that encourage Atul Fine Art to rise higher and do more for its students.

He says, “Art is a way of life. It isn’t the end result of a painting, or its price that gives it value. It is the process that adds real value. The process of realization in the journey is what sets apart a Fine Artist from a Fine Skilled Artist. Art is not a doing. It is a happening.”
